Terms of use
Updated October 15, 2026
Frasy is a sheet where readers leave one line from a book and read lines from others. By using it you accept these terms.
What you may post
A line of 3 to 280 characters: a short quotation from a book, how a book made you feel, or text of your own.
If it is a quotation, keep it short and name the book. Do not post paragraphs, pages or whole poems from protected works.
Do not post illegal content, harassment, discrimination or hate, spam, advertising, or other people's personal data.
Your responsibility
You are responsible for what you post. By sending a line you state that it is a short, properly attributed quotation or your own text, and that you have the right to share it.
Frasy cannot verify that each quotation is exact or comes from the book named.
What Frasy does with your line
It is shown anonymously: who wrote it is never revealed. It lasts a few days and then disappears, unless another reader keeps it on their shelf.
You give us a non-exclusive, free permission to display it on Frasy while it is active or kept. It remains yours or its original author's.
A line kept on the shelf of a reader whose shelf is public may appear on their public page, showing only the text and the book.
Removals and moderation
We may remove any line or close accounts that break these terms or that receive a valid copyright complaint.
Anyone can report a line with the “Report” button. Rights holders can follow the process on the Copyright page.
If a person repeatedly infringes rights, we will close their account.
Accounts
You can read and post without an account. With an account (email, password and username) you can keep lines. The username cannot be changed. Keep your password safe.
You can ask us to delete your account from the Contact page.
Bookshop links
In the future Frasy may show links to bookshops. If any is an affiliate link, we will say so clearly.
Warranties and changes
Frasy is provided as is, with no guarantee of availability. We may change these terms; important changes will be announced on the site.
