Frasy collects the minimum needed to work. Here is what we keep and why.
If you have no account
When you post a line we store: the text, the book (if you give one), its language, an approximate city and country based on your connection, and a random identifier from your browser used only for the limit of 5 lines per day.
We never show who wrote a line, nor that identifier.
If you have an account
We store your email, your username and your password (encrypted; we cannot see it), and the lines you keep on your shelf.
Your shelf is public by default on your /@username page on Frasy, showing only text and book. You can make it private at any time.
Lines you post while signed in remain anonymous to other readers.
In your browser
We store your preferred language and the anonymous identifier on your device. We use no advertising or tracking cookies. We measure visits with Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views without cookies and without identifying you.
Services we use
Supabase (database and accounts) and Vercel (site hosting), which process data on our behalf.
Open Library (openlibrary.org): when you search for a book, what you type in that field is sent to their service to show suggestions.
Your rights
You can ask for access, correction or deletion of your data and account from the Contact page.
Published lines expire on their own after a few days; lines others have kept stay on their shelves until they remove them.
